Chimamanda Adichie: The danger of a single story

I saw this earlier today on Ted.com and really felt it was something that everyone should watch. TED's motto is "Ideas worth spreading" it's a collection of talks from speakers all over the globe. They cover all sorts of topics ranging from stories, to technological breakthroughs, to lectures on music or physics and string theory. Definitely something worth checking out once or twice a week if you have some time to spare. Most talks range from 10-20 minutes.

This talk is by a Nigerian girl who was brought up in a middle class family and shows how not being fully educated about a people or a place causes us to create stereotypes and biases. Stereotypes that she created for others and ones that were created towards her. These stereotypes aren't necessarily created with bad intentions but eventually can turn into that.

Band Of The Week.

I know they're not new, but it's what I've been listening to so far this week. First time hearing this song though, and it's incredibly easy to play. Took me all of 5 minutes to learn to play. Now I just have to learn to sing or find someone to sing for me.

I Feel Computer Lazy.

I don't even wanna take the 5 minutes it takes to set up blogging from my phone. I wanted to put so much more here. Maybe I'm lazy, maybe I just have too many things to do lately. Who knows? Some day i might even start putting up some links to cool things like I originally intended.
